Our Story

Our Vision

Urban Hills lives to transform the city, the world, and the lives within for Jesus.

Our Mission

We are a Gospel-Centered, Disciple Making Community Seeking the Renewal of Our City.

Our Journey

Our journey began in the beginning months of 2008. It was birthed out of a desire to plant the Gospel and see a community transformed. In January of 2008 Caleb and Tiffany Southerland began to pray and dream about a Gospel community in the heart of Las Colinas. Both of them had grown up within walking distance of the canals and had seen the area stagnant for a couple decades. As they began to pray and plan for where they would head after Caleb finished grad school they were drawn back to Las Colinas because of the growth, people, and future of the area.

They began collaborating with partners who believed in their vision. Supported by churches like Plymouth Park Baptist Church (where Caleb was on staff) and Northwood Church in Keller, TX; they began meeting with a team to put together the DNA and structure of this community. In late June of ’08 they began building the community of Urban Hills by asking different families and individuals to join the journey of Urban Hills. The next few months were filled with prayer and discussing the core values and vision of our community.

On September 21, 2008 we had our first public launch service in the Las Colinas Country Club. The community of Urban Hills is defined more by what happens throughout the week than what happens on Sunday morning. We are not a Sunday morning event, a building, or a place to come but a community on the mission of reconciliation of our city, people, and the world. Our journey has just begun…
